As a volunteer or intern at Leka Gape you should be able to adapt foreign living habits and people, and be able to work together with others in a team.

You should be flexible and patience, especially in dealing with local authorities. Your creativity and ideas are very welcome.

If you have good organizational and negotiation skills it would be very helpful. You have to be aware that you will mainly have to work independently.

For that reason you should be able to take responsibilities on your own and put your theoretical knowledge into practice. Of course, you will always find someone who can help you if problems or questions appear. Just do not hesitate to ask.

Furthermore, you should be willing to act spontaneously in cases of emergency. You should not mind to work extended hours or in night shifts which can also be out off your actual working field, e.g. at the bakery or in the women's shelter.

In general you must be aware that an internship or volunteership at Leka Gape is no holiday but work. Only if you are seriouslys willing to help us you should apply.
